What to Expect
The event will follow the Provencal tradition of the “Grand Aioli,” where guests bring their own plates, napkins, and utensils to create a sustainable dining experience. It’s a chance to connect with friends, meet new people, and support the missions of Davis Farm to School and LDEI Sacramento.
The afternoon starts with a selection of locally produced rose wines and aperitifs paired with roasted nuts, and olives. The meal, served family-style, is catered by the Buckhorn Steakhouse featuring Upper Crust Baking Co sarmentines, platters of heirloom tomatoes, grilled vegetables, hard-cooked eggs, boiled potatoes, with the main entrees being grilled leg of lamb and a marinated white bean salad. Of course, there will be fresh aioli, the garlicky mayonnaise that gives the “Grand Aioli” its name. The meal is finished with coffee and pear galettes handmade by Bella Bru Bakery.

What Does the Village Feast Support?
The Village Feast is more than just a meal—it’s a community-driven fundraiser that supports two local non-profit organizations dedicated to food and agricultural education:
- Davis Farm to School: This organization provides farm- and food-education programs to local students, including garden grants, farm field trips, and support for farm-fresh food in schools. Their mission is to connect students with the land and their food, fostering a deeper understanding of sustainable agriculture and healthy eating.
- Les Dames d’Escoffier International (LDEI) Sacramento: The Sacramento chapter of LDEI is committed to supporting women in the food, wine, agriculture, and hospitality industries. They provide scholarships and grants to women pursuing education and careers in these fields. Additionally, LDEI Sacramento contributes to the St. John’s Program for Real Change, which offers culinary training for women in need, and supports the Alchemist Community Development Corporation’s culinary programs.
Who Benefits from the Village Feast?
Les Dames d’Escoffier, Sacramento, and Davis Farm to School have come together for the Village Feast because of a shared vision: both organizations are charitable, tax-exempt entities focused on education around food and agriculture. The Dames offer scholarships to women in the food, wine, and agricultural industries, helping to empower the next generation of female leaders. Meanwhile, Davis Farm to School enriches local education by providing garden grants, farm field trips, and support for incorporating fresh, farm-sourced food into school programs.
Why Is the Village Feast Important?
The Village Feast not only showcases the incredible food and wine of the Sacramento Valley but also builds community and supports these vital local causes. By participating, attendees contribute to initiatives that educate the next generation about sustainable farming practices and empower women to thrive in culinary and agricultural careers. Since it began, the Village Feast has raised nearly $200,000 for these programs, making a significant impact on the community.
